Gryphon-X 🇿🇦

Gryphon-X is Russell Pike, a DJ from Cape Town, South Africa, whose sets move between flowing progressive trance, groovy progressive psytrance and uplifting full-on. An official IONO Music label DJ since 2022, he brings a deep love of psychedelic music to carefully shaped dancefloor journeys.

He began mixing in 2003, developing his craft across vinyl, CDJs and digital formats before taking on club bookings in 2006 and festival appearances from 2015. Between 2021 and 2023, he also hosted his own psytrance radio show.

Known for uplifting daytime full-on around 142–145 BPM, Gryphon-X has a particular feel for the transition from daylight into the early night. Seamless mixing, close attention to detail and a connection with the crowd guide sets built around energy, emotion and a natural sense of progression.
